Every plug-in point in an interior is a position first and a fitting second. This 12V socket offers cigarette and Merit-style outlets in one unit.
- Cigarette and Merit outlets on one body
- 12V DC from the house supply
- For a portable fridge, an inverter or similar gear
Position follows the appliance. A fridge wants a point low in the cabinetry, an inverter wants one within reach of where it is switched on, and both want the lead run kept short behind the panel. Check that the 12V feed can reach the spot and that the body has the depth it needs before the wall goes on, then finish the trim around it flush.
The socket goes in with the rest of the fit-out hardware, while the interior is still open.
Does the position matter for a fridge?
Yes. Keep it low and clear, so the lead is not stretched and the fridge still gets airflow.
