Place it with the rest of the concealed hardware — charger, wiring, the parts no one is meant to see — and the layout stays clean. The cable route is the only piece that needs thinking about.
Curtains, trims and panels get finished around the final layout, so anything that wants a chase or a bracket is better settled before the last panel is fixed.
Can it go in later?
It can, but plan the cable route. Concealed hardware is far easier to place while the lining is still open.
